LAX COMPLETES INSTALLATION OF AUTOMATED SCREENING LANES IN TBIT

LAX completes installation of Automated Screening Lanes in TBIT

Los Angeles International Airport is confident that the opening of the final two of the 14 Automated Screening Lines (ASLs) in its Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) will ensure reduced security wait times and an improved passenger experience.

The installation of the 14 high-tech, time-saving lanes was carried out by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

According to LAWA, the new ASLs provide the foundation for future security enhancements and assist in decreasing the overall passenger transit time, therefore providing faster processing times and superior customer experience.

Unique Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags are attached to each bin, allowing for additional accountability of a traveler’s carry-on property as they move throughout the security screening process.
