An amendment to revision 6 of the Technical Implementation Procedures (TIP) for Airworthiness and Environmental Certification was signed by the EASA & FAA Certification Directors on Friday 22nd June 2018 at the 17th Annual FAA-EASA International Safety Conference in Washington, DC. It enters into force on the date of signature.
The FAA and EASA also signed an update to the Validation Improvement Roadmap at the Safety Conference. Further, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Commission (EC) have signed BOB decision 0008 that will pave the way for reduced involvement of the validating authority and lowers the fees that the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) charges U.S. manufacturers to validate their design approvals.
